Kiddie Homework

Kindergarten homework? What the heck was going on? Come to discover, kindergarten homework isn’t all that rare. I belong to some online communities ( why, yes, I regard myself as a dork ), and they have verified that their youngsters have come back home from kindergarten with worksheets that needed to be done as homework. Some of the items looked fun, and like the homework was meant more to get the folks concerned in their kids’ education.

Is it actually critical to allot kindergarten homework in order to get oldsters involved? I mean, seemingly it is and that is just gloomy. However, having a young 5 year old have to do worksheets appears a little insane. While most kindergarten homework appeared to be pretty easy and observational work, there were some that appeared to be going overboard.

One mom asserted that her kid was doing about an hours worth of homework nearly each night. Shouldn’t 5 year old be playing and learning in their play kitchens and dress up trunks instead of homework on the best way to spell words? In first grade I was learning to spell words.

Kindergarten was more of an intro to faculty and rules. Now there’s kindergarten homework on top of that? I am all for teaching youngsters while they are most receptive and ready to learn, and the kindergarten age is prime time for this.

Doing homework isn’t something a kindergartener should have to struggle thru rather than playing after a day of faculty.

Are kids not kids anymore? They are already growing up too quickly, losing their innocence and making an attempt to be much older than they actually are.
